"The time to relax is when you don't have time for it "
The sun is finally out!! It almost feels like summer. I love summertime around here- waking up on the lake to the reflection of the ripples of water on the ceiling and walls of the bedroom. Its gorgeous today. A little on the cold side- but once you get outside it isn't so bad. I took Mylo over to the beach while Dan ran the dogs that we are house sitting for. Mylo has her stitches in so she isn't supposed to be too wild. That's always a trick. She had a nice romp at the park then came home for a dip. Her snapper was out in full force. Sometimes she thinks she's an alligator- and snaps her jaw while barking.... her "talking" has got to stop...

This weekend I am thinking about going down to LA to visit Ali. She gave me a plane ticket to come visit last winter- and I still havent made it down to see her. Something always seems to come up... This weekend is a little tricky though. Everyone is out of town.. mom and dad are in Palm Springs- which will be so great for them. Its always nice for them to escape together and enjoy some hard earned time to relax, visit with old friends (the Diereckx's, Stories & Backes's are just a few regulars down there..)- and most importantly get some sunshine!
Its spring break around here- meaning that most of the population has retreaded to some sunny destination- Bonnie is hiking the grand canyon, neighbors are in Las Vegas, and the family who we are dog sitting for have gone down to LA to check out colleges.. I remember when I was doing my college search. I visited several colleges in California- Redlands, USD, Loyola Marymount- went do Disneyland and also Arizona to check out the U of A. I cant believe that chapter in my life is done and over already! Time really does fly.

So today, I am grateful for the sun and also for vacations. I am happy for everyone who has the chance to escape and take a vacation. Holidays- as they say in Australia- are really what we live for. We all need to take more time off.
On that note- I have a few trips coming up that I am really looking forward to. Starting with Coachella- at the end of April. Dan and I are flying down to visit Teri and Danny in Arizona. They just bought a new house- so we are excited to see it- and then drive with them to Indio Palm Springs for a 3 day music festival. Dan and I haven't been to a music festival in over a year! Wow- can you believe that Dan?? Talk about time flying... (then again it sometimes feels like I have never left home)
In mid May- all (11!) of my closest girlfriends are taking me on a Batchlorette trip of a lifetime! Teri has headed up the girls and together we are going on a Cruise down to Ensanada, Mexico. We leave from LA- and cruise 3 days down to Mexico and back. Ahhh- I cant wait. I don't even wanna think about it- cause I will get too excited!
Then- Dan and his boys head down to LA- where they will all meet up and RV over to Las Vegas for a Wild and Crazy bachelor ("Bucks") weekend. I don't even wanna know what they have planned-- all I need to know is that they will have the time of their lives... I can guarantee no one on that trip will ever forget that experience.
Then... the Wedding! Although we arnt going anywhere- we will be busy busy and we cant wait to show all of our friends and family our new life on Mercer Island. From 4th of July- to bon fires at the Casita- we will have an unbelievable weekend! We still need to figure out boats for 4th of July. Maybe we should start rounding some up...
